ceremony decore (for "alter")

i am having my ceremony next to a creek and I wanted some sort of simple decoration for marking the alter (like an arch or something) I would love it if you posted some ideas and pics for me. I am at a loss here and the wedding is in 45 days. Thanks ladies!

You could get crafty and take some branches out of the woods to make a natural "arch" which would fit in since youre being married by the river. . .then you could decorate it with wildflowers

for ours, my brother-in-law is building a super simple square-shaped arch out of bamboo. basically, just two verticals crossed with one horizontal, pushed into the ground. we'll be draping it with grape vines and silk banners. in the center, we're using an old used wooden wine barrel for our officiant's podium. depending on where you live, those wine barrels can be easy to come by. just look for a local vineyard or wine maker...they can only use the barrels once so they have to get rid of them anyway.
