how to get started on an outdoor wedding

So-
I guess i have no idea how to plan an outdoor wedding. Can you rent some type of floor boards or something to dance on outside? By this i mean- i am having my reception outside. We are going for more of a relaxed just have fun and dance thing. I am just not sure where to start- or if it is actually going to be more work this way. Just not digging the banquet halls....any ideas or thoughts?

Look for a tent rental company.  Even if you don't need a tent they might rent other things (or able to suggest who to go to) like dance floors, tables, lighting...

Yes, you can rent dance floors. If you are serving food, you may think about getting a tent to set up any food & tables under. Don't want your food sitting out in the sun & spoiling. I'm also having an outdoor reception, but it has an indoor site where I can set up my buffet & cake while the eating tables will be outside.

The first place to start is to get the reception site booked. Then decide if you'll want a tent or maybe looking into a rain location as a backup. Once you know where the wedding will be you can start planning the decorations & set up and figuring out exactly what you'll need to buy/rent.

We used a rental company that supplied our tent, dance floor, all the tables and chairs, dishes/glassware, etc.  Many rental companies can provide you with everything you need.  We actually asked potential caterers for rental company suggestions, and then asked rental companies for catering suggestions.  We got most of our best recommendations from the vendors we worked with or looked into using.
