HELP! Beach wedding can't decide on a venue...

My fiance and I are wanting to hold a small beach wedding to accomodate about 15 guests. We are thinking more of the northern FL area because we plan to leave for a cruise from FL for our honeymoon and it being north would require less travel for our guests who will all be coming from out of town  (Indiana to be exact). We want something intimate and not too expensive. I dont know if we should go for just getting a "wedding package" through one of the wedding planners or stay at a hotel that offers wedding planning.
Has anyone else had any experience with this or an advice on how to move forward? I'm kind of at a stand still. The wedding will be the summer of 2013 we aren't set on a date for sure.. we were keeping that open in case the prices differed. Any help please??

It sounds like you haven't had appointments with either, so I would set up appointments to find out what both options entail.

Do you have two SNs?  This is confusing.  

What are the pros and cons of each?  If you've been doing research then you should have a price point and what all both include.  If they include roughly the same features for the same price, then I would go with the hotel just because often times hotels will package that with the hotel rooms and throw in a discount - if you negotiate it.

Try the local B&Bs.  They usually offer a small wedding party package along with their room rates that should be more accommodating to a small party than a large hotel.

I am not sure if you are set on Florida but I had a beach destination wedding in the Dominican Republic.  I considered many other destinations and am so happy that I decided on the Dominican Republic.  It was a very small intimate gathering of just our immediate family and a few very close friends.  We rented a private villa and everything was included and just amazing.  The price was great too!  I could not ask for a more perfect weekend!  Our friends and family are still talking about it.  I am not just saying this because it was my wedding but it really was the best!!
