  • i saw go for it and sometimes the beach is chillier since you have the ocean breeze too... i live on the beach in cali and i know that ten miles inland its much warmer!
  • no not the only one...i love my dress
  • I would pick the poofy dress in any setting! Do it your way!

  • Haha my dilemna is the opposite. I have a pretty formal poofy dress and the ceremony is outdoors at the country club's gazebo. Its on a small pond with doves. And the recpeption is inside with a seated dinner. All pretty formal. However I want a less formal day. Laid back like we're at the beach. I have a beach theme with sand and seashells.

No place cards, no favors, no head table and no tux for the guys. But everyone keeps saying well your dress is so formal and you're having a seated dinner, so the guys need to wear tux and you need to assign seats. Do I really have to?

    No way!

It's YOUR wedding... do it how you and your FI want to. In the end all that matters is that you had fun,  and you're husband and wife. I think that that is most beautiful and important part of any ceremony, indoor or outdoor, Catholic or Goth.

I went to a wedding once at a country club where the bride wore jeans and a white t-shirt, and the groom wore shorts and a Bob Marley t-shirt. It was one of the most fun weddings I've ever been to and we had a sit down dinner as well.

I say you just tell them to mind their own business and let you do your wedding your way. When they get married they can do whatever they please :)
  • Do it your way girlfriend! We are planning an outdoor wedding aswell, and the dress i'm planning on is very poufy with lots of sparkles and beading and pick  ups and we are going for a more laid back feel. the guys want to wear tux's and thats coold but i'd be totaly fine with kakis /black pants with button ups :) we arn't really doing a head table, but seating the BP together at their own tables with thier families. but no really assigned tables. no place cards and our ''dinner' will be buffet style so people can choose what they want from a variety. thow in a mix of fun good music and just have fun!
  • You're not the only bride!!

I hear you on feeling like you dress needs to "go" with your wedding, your venue.... blah blah blah. I think if you love your dress and feel like it's what is going to make you feel beautiful and special on that day then it does go!

After I found my dress, the owner of the boutique/designer of the dress told me it was going to be featured in a local newspaper, so I looked for the article. There was my dress!! And an article that talked about "if you are having a chic hotel, modern comtemporary theme, formal wedding, this dress was suited for that "type" of wedding." LOL so our wedding is going to be outdoors in the back yard of a beautiful old mansioin (i guess) on the ocean. Our reception is going to be tented, right there on the grounds. Not super fancy formal. Not contemporary or chic!! But it's the only dress I can see my self walking down the isle in!!! I love it!!
