Unity Candle Ceremony Outside

I really love the idea of having a Unity candle ceremony during my outdoor wedding ceremony.  The only problem is that I don't want the candles to blow out.  I proposed the unity sand idea to my fiance and he is totally against it.  Any ideas on how I can pull off a unity candle ceremony with out the flame going out?

I have seen them done with floating candles. You just don't fill the vase up as far, then you can have it that way.

I've got the same problem (less the Fiance who's totally against the sand... that would be me.  I just don't like the sand ceremony, and I want our Mothers involved.)

I hadn't thought of the floating candles... that's a great idea.  I was also wondering about doing hurricanes, but I haven't been able to find ones I like (although I admittedly haven't looked all that hard.  

One of the many things that's on the verge of stressing me out!  Any tips, especially from people  who've done it or seen it done, would be MUCH appreciated.

Oh my gosh! How didn't I think of that!!!???  We're even doing lanterns as our centerpieces!  Wow, I feel so dumb!  Yay for problem solved though!!  I'll gave to wait for a nice windy day and experiment to make sure :-D  THANK YOU SO MUCH!

what about a water ceremony? you use colored waters or color changing water. im thinking of doing this.
