When to dress tables?

I'm trying to finalize my wedding timeline and realized I'm not sure when to dress the tables. The tables need paper linen tablecloths, white butcher paper ontop of that, clips to hold those two down, vases with flowers, mason jars with candles, and mason jars with crayons.

We are having our ceremony begin at 6:30PM, guests arrive at 6PM. Groomsmen and family are flipping the chairs. If we put out the roses at like 5PM, do you think they will hold up until dinner at 7:45PM? Or should we keep those in the fridge until the cocktail hour is winding down?

I would go ahead and set them out, the should be fine.  I attended a friends wedding this Sat and she used roses too and they were set out about 1 hour before the ceremony started and they held up all evening.

  • Roses should be more than fine for a few hours.  I would say go ahead and set them out.
  • hmm, you live in Austin. makes me wonder. You could always buy just a rose or two and try it out if you have any outdoors space. set them out at 5pm and check back later at different times. take in considertaion whether they will be in sun or shade.
also, trimming the ends a little in an angle right before you put them out always helps.

  • I think you should do a test run. I did that with my lemons to see if we could cut them the night before or not. I live in West Texas and it does get hot, but the lemons faired well but not sure on roses.
