Do you think a solo violinist would be enough for an outdoor ceremony? Or should we go with a duet or more? Of course, I'm already reaching the upper limits of my budget....
I would try going to the University of Toronto music department and posting something there. They have great musicians and they are starving college students.
Violinists can attach little pickups to their violin so that it can be connected to an amp/speaker system. That might work, and then one violin would be easy, as long as you can provide power to the speaker.
I have a few violinists I know, one I have hired for my wedding west of the GTA. PM me if you want their info.
