i'm sure it's been asked before, but.. how to get power for music?

I'm positive this has been asked before, but I can't find it..

We are having friends play the music for ceremony. Acoustic guitar and a keyboard. THe keyboard needs to be powered. Aside from running a super long extension cord from the reception venue 300 yards away, are there any optins for getting power out to the ceremony site that aren't going to overpower the music (like a generator would?)

Unless it runs on batteries, then you will be running an extension cord or using a generator.  

Does this venue do a lot of weddings?  If so, maybe you could ask them what they usually do for electricitiy.    It's worth checking your contract because a lot of outdoor venues like parks do not allow amplified music at all.

Ditto PP, and how large is your wedding? The music will likely need to be amplified, whether thru a PA or the instrument amps. Check with your musicians.

Theres a actually a solution to your problem.  Its called a power pack.  I imagine that Home Depot or Lowes will have them.  We have one and we use it all the time when we go on the boat, or camping and we keep it in the car in case we ever needed it.
