Tent Flooring

HELP!
I am having an outdoor wedding at my parent's house and there is currently no/little grass where the tent is being set up.  My mother is insisting on having a floor in the tent but does not want to spend alot of $. Which I totally understand, but then again I was ok with just the natural ground.... The rental place is telling her to use astroturf. But I am DEAD SET AGAINST that! I absolutly despise the stuff and i think (no offense to anyone out there) it looks cheap.

Does anyone out there have any ideas about affordable flooring that is not astroturf.  If it is a rental please keep in mind I am in the Houston area. I appreicate any and all ideas... HELP!!!

What about a regular floor that comes in pieces and you set up?  That's about your only option for a "floor" outside.

I am having that problem also.. My tent rental place told me to rent a floor which most people dont do is not the cheap.. So I think I will be fine with natural ground. and just rent a dance floor

my tenting company has a plain wood floor that's painted black and going in my dining area for the reception (on a tennis court)...it's not going to be very expensive

We are having this issue as well but not just with the tent flooring - with the entire (ceremony/reception) ground because our whole wedding is being held in the same place, out in a field. We are tossing around the idea of really fine wood chips to lay down everywhere. Of course renting a dance floor and now we are trying to think of something to keep the wood chips off the dance floor - perhaps laying sod just around the dance floor and the high traffic areas. 

I have considered that wood chips might be hard to walk on- especially in heels. That is why we are looking at the really fine ones. 

What is everyones opinion on that idea?

what about astro turf that is not that ugly green color but black or grey?

I think the sod idea is really unique, i am not sure about wood chips it may work, i would say consider mulch as well. Of course for this idea the wedding would have to be very casual, i would personally love it!
