Hello everyone!
FI and I have a venue (tentative) and a date. We want to have a small, simple ceremony in a park in my hometown. It's perfect for my offbeat, DIY Fairy Tale Forest theme. I'll be calling to confirm that we can use the park that day on Monday morning.
We want a secular, civil ceremony and honestly, we're not overly concerned with WHO marries us. I guess that's important to some people, but we're on a tight budget and we just want to BE married, so as long as it's legal and they show up and marry us, we're good.
Can I just call the courthouse (city hall?) and say, "Hey, would any of the judges be willing to come out to the park on May 19th and marry us?"
I really just have no idea how to proceed with that part. I've helped my mom (an event decorator) with dozens of weddings and I know how to do the rest. I'm just stuck on this part!
