I have absolutely fallen in love with the unity candle aspect of a wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, I have also fallen in love with the idea of an outdoor wedding ceremony. My officiant and the venue wedding coordinator have told me that a unity candle is usually a bad fit for outdoor ceremonies, since it can be hard to keep the candles from going out. Does anyone have creative ideas that could make a unity candle work outdoors?
I've thought about adding the unity candle to the beginning of the reception (indoors) as an alternative, but I would really prefer for it to be included in the ceremony if possible. Some people have suggested alternative unity ceremonies, such as sand, instead of the candle, but I really don't like any of those.
