Honeymoon for under $3,000 incl flight?

We keep on going back and forth with the honeymoon. We've reduced our original budget because we will be buying a house soon. What can we do for under $3,000 (including flights)?

Thanks for any input :)

Re: Honeymoon for under $3,000 incl flight?

  • We are pricing our Hawaii flight + hotel at $2500 total for 2, the rates keep changing just slightly but thats what they are staying around. Does your $3000 include food and activities? if so hawaii will be out, they are pricey for both.
  • We booked at Secrets Silversands in Cancun.  They have other resorts as well.  We got 7 nights in an upgraded room, transfers, swimming with dolphins, travel protection, etc for 3,000 including flight.  Go to Cheapcaribbean.com  They have really good deals on there for other destinations as well!   You can EASILY spend under 3,000!  Good luck!
  • Oh yeah...secrets is also all inclusive so that includes all of your food, drinks, tips, etc :)
  • Mexico will fit nicely in that budget. I suggest contacting a travel agent and giving them some basic ideas of what you are looking for (adults only, all inclusive etc) and your budget and let them send you some ideas!

We are going to The Royal Playa Del Carmen for 3 nights adults only all inclusive for our anniversary with an  ocean view suite for $2000. (Flights for us were about $800 of that)

We booked through Elise with Beach Bum Vacation and she is amazing! (and free!)

FI and I went to Beaches in Jamacia 2 years ago and it was wonderful! Beaches is the sister resort to Sandals (but allows kids). It is all inclusive so you won't have to worry about food or drinks or tips or anything. We went the end of September and there were NO kids there. It was awesome. They had a water park, a great beach, swim-up bars, tons of restuarants, etc. etc. The price (including airfare) was about $1,500 each for a week.

  • Have you thought about a honeymoon to Mexico? Keeping your budget in mind, you may want to look into Dreams Villamagna. Dreams Villamagna is an all-inclusive resort located in Nuevo Vallarta. The resort provides an excellent view of both the beach and the mountains. In my opinion, the staff is absolutely wonderful. As soon as you get there, they greet you with a wet towel to cool you off.  The resort also offers tons of great activities such as pool volleyball, spa treatments and movies on the beach.

The food is amazing and the cocktails are both unique and delicious! There are two things you must try if you decide on Dreams Villamagna, the sushi at Gohan and the cheese sticks at the Seaside Grill. One thing you may find very enticing is that the resort offers 24-hour room service. There’s definitely no need to rush at this resort and I think you and your future hubby will really enjoy it! Congratulations and good luck with your decision!

  • I am doing Secrets St James in Jamaica for about that for 6 days.

  • We're doing Napa and Sonoma Valley in California and then heading to San Francisco for a few days.  You' could probably do 5 days in nice hotels plua a rental car for $3,000, if you watch airfare and buy when the airlines are having a  sale.  We're relaxing, wine tasting, and taking a hot air balloon ride in wine country, driving to the coast to see the pacific ocean and then heading to the SFO for sightseeing.
