Outdoor Wedding in July......

It's always been a dream of mine and my fiancee's to get married outdoors with our close family and friends surrounding us which is something we finally get to have after 7 years of being married because of my meddling aunts who pushed us into getting married because we had a child together.  My aunts didn't want another child of mine be out of wedlock so we eloped on January 15, 2005. We were together 14 years and now it's our DREAM WEDDING I am living on cloud 9 now with a fiancee' helping with everything.

I was wondering what we could do to make our outdoor wedding our own and within our budget since we doing a lot of the stuff ourself since it's cheaper and I am very creative along with my fiancee'?  Our colors are Sapphire Blue, Purple, and Gold which we both decided together.  I need some input from other brides, bridesmaids or even others?

  • I just wanted to say those colors are going to be beautiful!  Good luck!

  • I'm confused, are you already married?  If so, then you'd be planning a vow renewal not a wedding, with your husband not your fiance.  I mean, as long as everyone knows you are already married, I don't particularly care what you call it (though a lot of others on TK do), but it would just make things clearer if you used those terms because it would clarify to us exactly what's going on here...

As for your questions, it's kind of hard to give advice on what to do when we don't know your budget, what you are planning, etc.  Maybe provide a little more info and we can give some suggestions?

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • Congrats on your vow renewal.  My dad & stepmom planned theirs for their 10 year anniversary.  It was very nice.

  • We are getting married in August, with the wedding and reception in our back yard...I did this for my son, and now, for my second marriage, get to do it for myself! We have rented a huge tent, tables, chairs, etc. a local food mart is catering- simple food. I have a dj, a photo booth, and friends to help out..if you have any questions, please feel free to ask..
  • We are also having a outdoor wedding, well 2 ,my son and his fiancee (in May)  and then me and my fiancee (same sex couple) in July. We are on a very tight budget and Im also crafty and been trying to come up with more ideas, so please feel free to email me and maybe we can exchange ideas.
  • You definitely need to ask around if there's any cheap outdoor areas to get married. I'm getting married behind a business in my town. I found out about the place through the grapevine. I was skeptical at first, but when you walk behind the building there's tons of trees, a little pond. It only cost a $100 plus whatever we pay for chair rental. We won't even have to waste time going to another location to take pictures.
