Outside wedding ideas...

I need some ideas on how to decorate the pavilion where our wedding ceremony is going to be. The pavilion is surrounded by marshes located in a country club. Our wedding will be in the middle of April and in the late afternoon about 6ish pm. The motiff is dark pink/watermelon and the flowers will be calla lilies...The pavilion will have white bench chairs...

Thanks.

Re: Outside wedding ideas...

  • Do you have a theme?  It seems very elegant.  Perhaps some hangin chandeliers from the pavilion or white lanterns (or white and pink alternating).

The flowers would look good in tall vases, but they may block your guests views.  If you cut them shorter they can be in shorter vases.  Silver candelabras with white or pink candles would also be gorgeous centerpieces and you could save the flowers for floor vases or hang them upside down from the ceiling. (I've seen this look really neat - like a flower canopy).  Hurricane lamps work well, too.

  • I second the idea of hurricane lamps or mason jars.  I also love the look of garlands of fabric flowers.
  • Thank you all for the suggestions.

@ChrisloveBarry ...I missed to mention that there are ceiling fans in the pavilion so the japanese lanterns is a good idea but might not be applicable. I will definitely include candles in the reception. The galvanized pails is a very good idea.
@Slojen...i was thinking of the shorter ones also. and then put clear beads as what Barry said. I think hurricane lamps is a net idea too instead of the ordinary lamps.
@SpookieCat...garlands is a good idea too. That would be easy to make or get. I will look into that. :-)
