Rose Petal Toss?

I really love the 'rose petal toss' idea, but didn't know if it was weird to do it after our ceremony?
Our ceremony & reception are all at the same place, with cocktail hour, hopefully, outside and then inside for the ceremony.
Do you think it would be ok to have the rose petals tossed at us after we are pronounced husband & wife and walking back down the aisle instead of a 'getaway'?  Is anyone else doing this??

My wedding is outside and I'm using rose petal cones and having guest toss them as we walk back down the aisle.  I'm using ribbon and hanging the vellum cones on the ends of the chairs !!!!!

I'm weird about the whole "what to toss at the couple" thing. I appreciate the fact that it's widely done, but I don't like the idea of thing being thrown at me personally.

That being said, I think rose petals would be BEAUTIFUL. Bubbles and rice are so done...rose petals sound amazing...good luck!

This, and you can have a saying, telling guests when you want them tossed.

check with your venue first! some don't allow petals bc they get slippery when they are stepped on (rice is bad for birds and bird seeds attract birds) you don't want to spend money and not be able to use them... we are concidering the eco-confetti, that disolves when it gets wet, no clean up, no slipping guests, no birds being harmed :-) save-on-crafts.com has the cheapest price so far...

My best friend did this last weekend and it was great! I would definitely check with the venue though. Hers was the same with outdoor ceremony and in door reception

Where did you get the rose petals?
