My FI and I have decided to hire a DJ for our outdoor garden wedding at my parents place. Initially we were going to rent the speakers and a microphone and do the whole IPod playlist thing but we were worried that it wouldn't work very well and my brother may end up being the "tech guy" all night.
Unfortunately, my mom is not happy about our decision and although she was fine with the idea of having music before, she now thinks it's going to be a loud "rager" and that they'll play bad music and that we'll have complaints from the neighbours.
How do I explain to her that if anything the DJ is going to be our "music coordinator" and will play what we want and at what volume we want. Is it acceptable to put some restrictions on the DJ ahead of time in terms of volume, base, etc?
