Outdoor venue - looking for altar & sound suggestions

We're wanting to have our ceremony at a natural spring.  The park service has a lot of rules, however.  Ones in particular that I'm having trouble with -

2.  Structures, including arches, tents, shade structures, stages and portable pavilions may not be used or erected.  Aisle runners are not permitted.

I would love an arch or an arbor, but obviously that's not an option.  Any ideas for altar decor?  One wedding I found photos of used pillars

7. Electrical power will not be furnished nor will generators be allowed. &
9. The use of portable, battery operated sound system is acceptable as long as they met the standards listed in 36 CRF 2.12(a)(1) and do not interfere with the use of the area by other individuals.  No public address systems allowed.  [36 CRF 2.12 (a)(1)  essentially says your sound can't 60+ decibels at 50+ feet.]

Any ideas on how to amplify the voice of our officiant without a PA?  I tried googling "battery operated sound system" but they all come back as portable PA systems.  We can get battery operated iPod speakers or use a boom box for music, I just wasn't sure if there was a way for us to artificially amplify people speaking within these terms.
