Although I'm not buying vintage dresses - I am having my bridesmaids have a vintage "feel" - wearing knee-length dresses, pumps or peep toes, wearing vintage jewelry and wrist-length gloves with broaches on each of their dresses. You might want to check out the David Tutera My Fair Wedding episode with the bride who wanted to incorporate mermaids into a 1940s wedding. He shows how you don't have to have everything be vintage to capture the vintage feel. I taped this episode. The end result - minus the mermaids - was a really high-end version of what I want to do for my wedding - pearls, crystals, etc.
