Which do you like...

Hi everyone!

So after our move into our new home (renting instead of an apt) and much less stress and my wedding dress arriving I have gotten into wedding mode again! Anyways, on my home I had a feeling to stop at the Florist's shop I was thinking about using and looked at lots of amazing flowers. I decided on my bouquet will be ivory/white roses, stephanotis, babys breath or pearl hyacinths.. It will look like an all white version of this:

The bridesmaids will just be a smaller version and where you guys come in is I dont know what to do for the guys. I originally toyed around with a few ideas like feathers because my guy doesnt care for flowers. With basically the same price point which do you ladies like best...

(white rose)                      OR      (white stephanotis)

also what are people doing for moms and dads? anything for grandparents?

Re: Which do you like...

  • Personally, I love the stephanotis'.  I'm doing grandparents, parents, etc with pin-on corsages/bouts that are a little different than the GM's bouts.
  • I vote for the stephanotis, too.  It looks simple-yet-elegant.  (And I mean "simple" in a very GOOD way!)

I collect vintage wedding photos and, as my collection's grown, I've been amazed/impressed by the fact that -- even 100+ years ago, guys were good sports about wearing flowers that co-ordinate with their bride's bouquets.  I hope your fella agrees to do it, too!

Your bouquet, BTW, is going to look beautiful!

I like the stephanotis best too.  My groom is wearing a different bouttonniere than the groomsmen.  He's going to be sporting a flower that is only in my bouquet and not in my bridesmaids' (pink hydrangea).  You should consider it too!  It's a nice romantic thing to do :P

  • I think the stephanotis looks best also. Very simple and elegant but still goes with the bouquet.
  • stephanoitis for sure. its very cute :)

  • I am using white roses and stephanotis too! And a couple white lilies as well. My flowers will look almost identical to yours! My groom’s boutonniere is one white rose and stephanotis while the groomsmen/dads are just wearing the rose. The mom’s are wearing a corsage w/ one white rose and stephanotis while the other ladies (guest book/programs, readers) are having just one rose and ribbon. Make sense? I may be partial, but I think it will be beautiful!

  • Yay, thanks ladies..I'm going with the stephanotis but now im off on an adventure of putting something special in the grooms and mine.. I love that idea.
  • Yeahhhh... I think I like the stephanotis too. I don't really love the flower itself, but that's a pretty darn cute bout.

We did floral bouquets and feather bouts, btw (I made them myself- supplies from etsy seller Plumule)

For the dads we used the same feather bouts but with opposite colors, and for the moms, gma & sisters I ended up making them all nosegays of roses. No one wanted to wear a corsage anyway LOL

  • I love the white stephanotis. I am so over roses....working in a florist during Valentine's will do that to you. The only reason I a using them is because the FI wants them.
