I've been a little at a loss to do something unique here. I've found some pillows at bridal shops that are cute, but ordinary. I also need two, because I have twin 3-year-old nephews. I've been thinking about having them carry banners instead, the first one that says "Here comes the Bride!" and the second one says "RUN!" And for some reason, everyone seems to know that Dylan should carrry the "RUN!" sign...
Another option would be to ebay it up for an antique pillow.
Looking at your bio, a lot of your ideas strike me as a little rustic, so maybe you could do a wooden ring box instead of a pillow? Not sure how you would vintage that up, except for maybe painting it or engraving it or what is that process called? Woodburning or something like that? I love how coherent I am this morning. Damn sinuses. Anyway, I found this on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=37019292&ref=sr_list_2&&ga_search_query=ring+bearer&ga_search_type=all&ga_page=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title and that's where I got the idea. Not sure if you want to go that route or DIY it, they have little wooden boxes at Michaels that you could completely customize.

  • I'm using a weird bird's nest that's covered with moss. Have you gone to martha stewart.com or searched for ring pillows on etsy.com? You can get some awesome ideas from there. :)

  • I'm going to featuring bits of lacy/victorian things, and thought using some of my granmother's crochet'd doilies as a ring bearer pillow would be great!  (I was going to starch them into a bowl form and add ribbon to hold the rings).  But then I found out my grandmother's doilies have all but been destroyed.  So I bought this one off of etsy (but in white).  I'm probably going to do the same thing for a flowergirl basket.  Just add a handle and voila!
