October Honeymoon

Any suggestions on a afforable honeymoon in october. We are thinking about aurba or somewhere like that. But I'm worrying about the rainny season. Anyone have a good place to go. Any suggestions are great.

Re: October Honeymoon

  • What amount is 'affordable' for you guys?
  • October tends to be low season for several destinations...Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico, Italy (though it depends on where you're going) and you can find some good deals for France as well.  Of course, everything depends on what you consider affordable.
  • Well it looks like October is the 'Rainy Season' but it is only 4 inches average throughout the entire month. I think you would be fine going but there are several other options as well. Mexico is extremely affordable and October weather is supposed to be gorgeous down there.

    What is your budget?

  • We had a fabulous time last October in St. Maartin. It rained overnight once or twice, but only rained once for about 15 minutes during the day when we were there.

  • I've been to Riveria Maya twice in Oct (once for HM at Secrets Maroma Beach); combining the two trips there together; I've been a total of 12 days and 11 nights and the total amount of rainfall was maybe 15 minutes. Otherwise both times it was in the 90s and pure sun
  • We are going on our honeymoon October 1st to Tulum Mexico. They have great rates right now at Dreams Resorts. We are staying 9 nights for the price of 5 and its all inclusive. :) Although we are taking a risk with hurricane season, as a former FL resident, the season generally subsides by Mid September. And even if it does rain a day or two. I have no worries having to have a 'stay in bed' day with the hubby! Kiss

  • I've been to Mexico 5 times (to both Cancun and Playa Del Carmen) in the month of October (I used to do an annual "girls weekend" every Columbus Day weekend with friends).  Weather was always amazing and the prices were good.  Love it down there!

  • Since my parents are taking care of the wedding we are takeing care of the honeymoon. So our plan as of now is our tax reture is our budget which is usally 1500ish between the both of us. But we want to do tickets early and save up so we dont have to pull alot of money from other places. So I am hopeing for 2000 for it but we may have to adjust it a bit.

Thanks for help so far i was worried we may have to wait till spring to do something.
  • You can get a better deal if you book them both together. I think you could afford an All Inclusive. I would start saving as soon as you can and try to get $2500-$3000 if you can so you have money to spend.
