Seating Chart Pics please!!!

I had a meeting with my hall yesterday and they asked what kind of seating chart Im going to have.  oops, I thought I wouldnt need one.  So now, I have place cards that are going to go on each place setting ( in those antique car place card holders), but I need exciting ideas for a seating chart in front of the hall.  I know you guys can help me!

  • I like the little car idea.. where are you putting those? On the table right away?

I saw these as escort cards and then at the actual table on top of the plate they had a card calligraphied with the persons name. This is cute cuz they made their table numbers destinations instead.

  • I wasnt sure if I was going to do a big chart out front and the put the cars with the names on their place at the table, or do two seperate little cards and put the cars outside with the little card on their plate.  hmmmm.  I would like to get some good ideas!
  • OK, I really don't think you're going to be able to see this ...

I don't even want to tell you how long it took, but bascally, the fun part was the little "key" -- every name had 1 or more symbols after it, and the symbols went with a certain category in the key ("brides friend -- college," "groom's family," etc.)

We're not having a seating chart.  The cocktail hour is going to be in the same room as the reception, and there will be placecards at each seat.  If they can't find where they're sitting within the hour, they have some issues.  :P

Our placecards will be little slips of paper attached to some copper-painted pincones (see my DIY section in my bio).

  • We did an escort card table. Each card had the persons name and their table number. Each table had a big number on it. I thought that worked really well. Plus, lots of people brought their cards home as mementos!
