Petticoats

I'm trying to track down petticoats for under my 1950s style swing dress. Everything I keep finding is too short (22" or 24", I'm looking for 27") or holy-crap expensive. I'm all about online stores as I'm heading to camp this week so will be prevented from accessing the real world for a while! Does anyone have any genius ideas? I'm all googled out...

    You could try makeing one. It would be alot cheaper

    I actually had mine custom made on from an etsy seller.  You can put out an alchemy request on etsy and people will give you their bids.  Mine was made by a lady that lives in the same city and she did great and I got it for about half the price I would have paid for one online.

    I think you must have sent me a psychic message, because as soon as I read your post, my mind said "petticoat junction.. just like the movie.  hey, I wonder if there is a store called that?"  and there it was.

    I bought my petticoats at Vivian of Holloway out of London.  Not too expensive and really fabulous.  I also bought my dress from there too, but I'm probably going to get the dress hemmed just a bit (maybe 1") to be sure that the petticoats peek out from below.  White dress, red pettis, red shoes!

    It's entirely possible we have the same dress, but I thought the VoH petticoats were actually really expensive, especially compared to the cost of the dress. I too lve the idea of coloured petticoats and shoes, but I'm heading down the pink/blue/purple missmatched route.
