Vintage Address Labels and a Tough MOG situation!

Hi!

Is there any please you ladies have found cute vintage address labels?  I cant seem to find any, anywhere.....

Also, my fiancees mother is one of the nicest people I have ever met.  She wants to help with the wedding and suggested making the ceremony programs for me.  She wants to do this awful looking 1980s hearts motif that don't go with the vintage theme at all!  I also already bought the vintage clip art border cd from Fenderskirtsvintage.com, and was planning on making them myself.  Without sounding completely obsessed and anal about this vintage theme, what would you guys suggest I do?? :)

  • Are you having someone design your invitations? Maybe they could do the envelopes or address labels as well. Or maybe try designing your own and printing them with Vistaprint, they seem to do everything.

With your FMIL, that's tough. I'm of the heart that if people ask to help you should accept the offer that way they feel involved. I also like things to be a particular way so it can be hard to give up control sometimes :-) Could you tell her that you had a design in mind and share that with her?

  • I'm of no help on the vintage address labels, but I think I can help with the second part of your question.

I am supermegacontrolfreak with this wedding but I am also a fair person. I think that if I were you I would accept her help, but let her know that you've already spent money on what you had in mind and that you have ideas of your own. I would schedule a time when the two of you could sit down and do them together. Problem solved. She gets to help and feel involved and you get to have your programs the way you want.

Plus, if she is really, REALLY down for helping then there's always things to do during set up, right? :)
  • For the labels, try creating your own with a portion of the clipart border, or even get a coordinating one. I haven't found ANYTHING worth using as far as labels go. We are planning a 1920's wedding. As for your Inlaw, simply tell her, I have a coordinating border, we can do them together, or you can print and maybe she can fold, etc. As long as she feels included she should understand! GOOD LUCK

I definitely agree with doing them together.  Does she even know you're doing a vintage wedding?  If you show her some of your inspirations and show her what you were going to do, then maybe she'll get the hint.  Otherwise, you really shouldn't turn her down.  If it means 80s hearts, then 80s hearts it is!  No one remembers the programs anyway. ;)

  • I agree with you girls :)  Everyone tells me that nobody will remember the programs, but gosh I feel like that is the most fun part for me!!  (besides invites, save the dates, etc).  Im big on this paper crap and I have no idea why :) lol.  I e-mailed her back and told her that I would LOVE to see her ideas!  I bought a vintage clip art cd awhile ago, but maybe we could do them together?  Heck, she can plan the entire actual ceremony if she wants to!  She can write it for us! Thats one thing Im not really concerned about....weird.....

She does know we are doing a vintage theme, but I dont think people understand that this is going to be in the Titanic times or what that even looks like. (victorian, early 1900's vibe) ....Most people think of 1940's,red lipstick, Frank Sinatra, etc. when they think of vintage.....I did show her the Save The Dates and some other things,so I think that will help.

    Thanks for your advice!!

Hey, Jenny. I think these vintage labels are pretty cool, and they're free to print:
