Hi ladies. It seems like many of you are still figuring out your hair accessories. I just got my hair flowers from etsy seller DK Designs, and I wanted to give her my highest recommendation.

I fell in love with this Jennifer Behr veil, but there was no way I was going to spend $675 on it.


So, I found this etsy seller (http://www.etsy.com/shop/dkdesignshawaii) who does clay flowers. I sent her the Jennifer Behr picture and a pdf of my invitations. I wanted the flowers to be similar to the inspiration but to look more like the hibiscus blooms on my invites.

Love them! I'm going to wear them with a birdcage veil. Check out her site if you're interested in custom hair flowers. She also does bouquets and centerpieces.

they are very pretty and quite a statement! what are clay flowers? when i heard clay i think heavy...

Wow! Very beautiful! I'm curious too about the clay. When I hear clay, I think very fragile.

Thanks, Graceful. That was my first question when I contacted the seller: will they be too heavy? They are actually surprisingly light. They are made from claycraft. I have no idea what that is, but she does amazing work with it.

The clay holds up well. This seller has done all the florals for many weddings: bouquets, centerpieces, and boutonnieres. I personally prefer real flowers, but her work is pretty amazing:

great!! maybe its like a plasticy kind of clay (those tend to be lighter adn less fragile). pretty cool though!!

I paid $80 for both. Her original quote was significantly less but she increased the price when I told her how big I wanted them. Her normal sized flowers are much less.

I'm guessing they are made of polymer clay? It's a medium that I work with and it's fabulous! This design is just beautiful, and should be VERY much worth the $80 you paid for them! Awesome find!
