Eiffel Tower Vases for Vintage Wedding?

Hi,

One of our potential venues has a "platinum wedding" package for a great price. The only problem is that it comes with Eiffel Tower vases (28-inch fluted vases) -- the kind that usually hold floral centerpieces that look more like the mini-indoor-trees that you see on... well, Platinum Weddings.

We're doing a 1940s vintage wedding in the fall, so I want something more simple, elegant, and budget-friendly. Quite frankly, it doesn't even have to involve flowers at all. We were originally thinking of having birdcages with candles.

Any/All ideas welcome! Thanks!

  • im also not a fan of those eiffel tower vases. i love the idea of bird cages with candles - i think its very cute :). can you talk to the venue and ask them if you can turn down the vases but add something else into your decor or food in exchanged for the cost of the use of those? it cant hurt to ask!

Eiffel tower vases are also often used for ostrich feathers which do add an old hollywood glamor feel but are definitely not budget friendly and not appealing to a simple 1940s style wedding. If you are happy with the rest of the platinum wedding package except for the vases, ask if you can substitute something else (maybe they can knock a few dollars off?) and go for it!

  • Ooh ooh!! We are doing birdcages with candles. We got the cages from save on crafts.com  Seriously, they have such variety. We bought beads from the dollar store and opposite colored candles for them and are doing a nest outside the cage with a white bird candle (Pier one). Pics in my bio!!
