Anyone doing Pin-up Themed weddings?

My fiance and I are huge into rockabilly music and the whole 50s greaser, motorcycles, cars, etc. and we both LOVE pin-ups.

Too bad we are stuck here in the midwest rather than being someplace cool like texas or so cal.

Anyways I want to put pin-up stuff everywhere in my wedding. All my bridesmaids are going to wear cute 50s pin-up dresses from pin-up girl clothing and in all of their bridesmaid bags I'm doing pin-up themed stuff.

Also for my fiances grooms gift I think I'm going to get pin-up/boudoir photos taken of myself and order them as a really nice coffee table book and give them to him the night before our wedding.

Anyone else into pinup style?

  • im doing polkadot dresses for my bridesmaids that are sort of pin-up inspired (you can see them in my bio) but thats about it. my whole wedding is kinda polka-dot centric :)

  • I think pinups are so so cute!  I would love to do pinup boudoir photos, but alas, I can't afford them.  Though I've done them myself in the past, so I may do that again.

Are you really giving your fiance's groomsmen boudoir photos of yourself?  Ö.ö

  • You're speaking my language, haha.

I'm so early in the planning process that god only knows what I'll actually end up with, but I'm so obsessed with pin-up girls of the 40s/50s. I think my life would be complete if I looked like Rita Hayworth.

I definitely plan on some boudoir photos, and I'm feeling confident about wanting a tea-length dress.  I don't know if it'll happen since a lot of my close friends don't live near me, but there's a place in LA (maybe other places too?) called...uh... Poliste? or something like that.  They offer parties where they teach you how to pole dance, and lap dance, etc. The lady I spoke to at a bridal expo mentioned something about burlesque dancing, and I was practically sold.

I'd love to see some pictures of the pin-up things you're giving the bridesmaids!
