Themed Wedding? Good or Bad???

My fiance and I have bounced around the idea of themed wedding/receptions from the beginning. Our colors that we have narrowed it down to are Tiffany's Teal, Marigold, and a light Sunset Orange. Those colors only remind me of one thing, Carnivals. I would love to have that theme!!!!
I would use "tickets" as invitations, popcorn machines, and cotton candy. The big thing with that is I want to have our engagement pictures made on a merry-go-round! I want it to be very vintage yet classy.
He is for this idea too but I just want to know how others would percieve it. If it was too childish or dumb. We love the idea and how fun it would be and how it opens the door to so many other design and planning ideas.

Help me. I really need to know if this is a bad idea or not.

i think that wedding sounds fantastic and a blast! can i come? (hehe jk)

a themed wedding can sound really cheesy and weird to some people, but if its tastefully done, then its a blast and really cute.

like when people hear that my theme is retro-polkadots, i see theri distaste on their faces. but i dont care becaues i know our wedding will be fun and cute and definitely not over done.

I really like that idea and I've seen pictures of a wedding like that and it was done really well. There's a way to do any theme tastefully so you should definitely go for it.

Yup, I've seen several pictures (wedding and e-pics) with this theme and they turn out really neat.  I say go for it.

I also have seen this theme pulled off really well. Go for it! People won't think it's strange, they will find it fun and memorable. People tend to forget the details about weddings that are done the same as every other wedding, making it unique and fun makes it so they'll never forget yours.

I think a theme is fine as long as you are happy with it and you aren't going to look back on your pictures in 30 years and say what the h311 was I thinking?!

Sounds really fun.  I just saw some pictures on MS weddings which featured a real wedding with this type of them (inlcuding a parade) and it looked like so much fun and very tasteful.

Sounds very cute. I agree that if it is done tastefully it would be a lot of fun. I think the trick with pulling off a theme is to not go too overboard with it. The colors are great and having touches of "vintage carnival" would be darling.

I LOVE vintage carnival as a theme.  Like PPs, I've seen a few weddings with this theme and they are fantastic!

We are doing a vintage carnival theme also!!  Our colors are aqua and red. My family likes the fact that our wedding will be different, more like a party instead of the traditional weddings that most people have. For our table centerpieces we are having flowers in milk glass vases on top of aqua runners, and red candles in mason jars. I think that sums up the look we're going for..
