Retro and Vintage Weddings

What do you think about these shoes?

I'm having an outdoor wedding and reception and I don't want to sink into the ground (which I did last summer at a friend's wedding!) so I'm trying to find some classy shoes that I will be able to walk in and match my gown. I don't like bridal flip-flops (well, not on me anyway), and I don't think I want strappy shoes. I just don't think they work with the look I'm going for. I found one pair, and I've searched far and wide online for anything that would work better than them with no luck. So I'm thinking they might be just right, but I would love your opinions about them. They have a four inch heel, which is perfect for me. I'm posting pictures of my gown and the shoes. What do you think??? Oh, the roses on the shoes are detachable, but I kinda like it. :)

  • I like them too! But I also have seen these things called "heel stoppers" so if you find skinny heels, you stick them on the bottom (they come in clear and other colors) so they spread out the weight of the heel so you don't sink in to grass! I think they are ten bucks. Worth checking out if you wanted a skinnier heel and not a wedge (but I do like what you showed us!). Good Luck!

Here is a place to check them out:

Thanks ladies! I am definitely not used to wearing wedge shoes, but when I saw them I was like, WOW! These might actually look good! A lot of the others that I've found were shiny patent leather or had a tan/natural colored wedge. Most of them were super cute, but not right for me. Another thing I love about these shoes is that they come in three colors, black, red, and pink!!!

*nukke- I originally found them here: bootycocktails.com, but an awesome bride from weddingbycolor.com found them for me on a different site for $20 cheaper! Here's the link to the shoes at that website: eletriqueboutique.com.

*smallsmp- thanks for the idea. :)

I probably won't ever have the chance to post these for any reason, BUT if I was having a silver wedding with tons of glitz I would have really liked to wear one of these pairs. :)

Sorry I posted so many! I just thought they were SUPER cute, and I had to share!

  • Oooh! I love the shoes!! I will have to check out the website. I have a pair of heel guards as mentioned by pp. I havent heard anything bad about them and nobody has ever seen them. Here is a pic of the ones i have. But you can get any color style bling-y

  • I think those are perfect! Love them! I didn't want strappy shoes either, so I understand how hard it can be to find the right ones!

also, I LOOOVE your dress, been meaning to say that ever since the retro/vintage bio list went up :)

Thanks so much ladies. :) My dress and I just came together perfectly! I was shopping in the next town over from where I live ( I don't go there very often), and I walked by the bridal shop where I had tried on gowns before and there it was. I ran to it!!!  They only had it in the window for 20 minutes before I saw it. I walked in and asked to try it on and BAM! I had a dress. :) The owner knew I loved black and was hoping I would see it during my next appointment, but she didn't realize I would find it so quickly. Thanks for the compliment. :)
