Trouble Deciding on Colors

We are getting married early in September of this year and I cannot decide on "colors." I have my dress (white) and I am planning on having it cut to tea length and I really want to wear a colored petticoat with shoes in a matching color.
I love vintage...my FI knows that and my engagement ring is from the 1930's and I LOVE it.
I have looked at many boards online and I like so many of them!!! I have never felt so indecisive. Our venue is going to be outdoors and the views have natural beauty (rolling hills, & mountains in the distance) that take your breath away.
Did anyone else have this problem and how did you ultimately make your choice? What did you pick, if you don't mind me asking?

  • We picked our favorite color blue then added a little gold for elegance and yellow for flowers.

Yeah, I just chose my favourite colour, and then we decided together on accent colours.  We chose two rich jewel tones--violet and navy--and accented them with ivory, grey and muted pinks.

  • My color scheme inspiration is in my planning bio. What I did was I found a piece of artwork that I love and used that as my basis for inspiration. Its really helped me envision everything and choose colors! The art I picked is my current profile pic.

Blue is our favorite color.  We did not obsess over incorporating it into each element of the ceremony and reception.  Once I found my dress (dusty blue), that defaulted as the shade of blue to incorporate -- if we did not go with white or ivory -- in other elements.  So, we chose a dark blue (very dark, almost black) ink for the printing on the letterpress invitations.  The dusty blue made appearances in my bouquet (one flower in a multi-colored bunch), my shoes (multi-colored, hand painted flowers on white snakeskin) and in a small accent flower in the groom's bout.

Maybe that approach -- chosing one color -- will work for you as well.

  • we are going with light pastel colors - almost washed-out looking
