Hey ladies and gents!
If you would like your name to be added to the
Retro & Vintage Knottie Bio List please include the following information:
- Planning bio url: (you don't need to make it a clicky)
- Wedding date: (month day, year)
- Retro/Vintage era inspiration: (example: "1940s" or "General") Please write "general" if you don't have a main era of inspiration, and are drawing inspiration from a variety of eras.
- Wedding colours: (main colour is written first, followed by accent colours).
- wedding theme/Inspiration: Include UNDER 10 WORDS describing your wedding inspiration/theme. (example WWII garden tea party) or some such explanation.
On the first of each month I'll be updating this Roll Call sticky to make it easier on me. :P
Lastly, I've also added a bio page for our married knotties. Check out their bios here. You may find some vintage/retro For Sale Items!

Hi, all ... I am inspired to see so many brides-to-be interested in vintage themes. Honestly, my guy and I are older, so we have a lot of childhood memories to weave into, and help create, a vintage-inspired wedding to remember. Ideas are aleady bubbling!

[QUOTE]um this might sound stupid but what is a planning bio? should i start like a free blog on tumblr? it sounds like a great idea actually to keep all this organized. i already have a wedding binder with everything in it. thanks! -Erin

Welcome! A planning bio is basically an online version of your binder. I had a binder too, but I found that I was changing things so often, that I couldn't keep up. Not to mention most of my information/inspiration was found online. The icing on the cake, was that I could share my ideas with knotties and ask for suggestions on this or that. For example, I'd say "I not sure about my veil idea. I've posted some pictures in my bio under the blog section, what do you think?", and they could go and look and comment.
Most girls make bios on www.mywedding.com or www.weebly.com because both of those sites are free. I have my wedding website mywedding.com (the website for my wedding guests with my personal information that is unsafe to share with the general internet community) so I made my planning bio using theknot.com wedding website. I think theirs is strangely overlooked by many brides! You can find the link to start creating your knot.com website from the knot.com main page. It's on the left side under "wedding planning tools" or something like that.
I hope this helps! I'd love it if you'd make a wedding website so we can sneak a peek at your ideas!
I will post the url soon as its up!
thanks!

Good luck.
We just booked our venue and put down our deposit so our date is official! The peacock theme was not only popular in the first half of the 20th century, but has a special significance for me as a classical archaeologist: the peacock is the bird sacred to Hera, the goddess of marriage and monogomy.
