Ostrich Feather Centerpieces

So, I first saw this last week on "Four Weddings" on TLC. They are the empire vases with ostrich feathers out of the top. Is anyone else doing this idea or have you seen it done in person? Is this tacky or does it portray well? I am going for old Hollywod glamour feel since I am getting married in Palm Springs, California. Any and all suggests welcome!

I was going to do these as my centerpieces but we decided to go for hydrangeas in milk glass vases instead. I would suggest not putting the floralytes in the vases if you don't want them to look tacky. Before you decide for sure if you want to do this, go ahead and research prices because ostrich feathers, even if poor quality but especially if high quality, are very expensive. We're talking $3 or so per feather and you will probably need a couple hundred. Hope this helps and good luck!

i loved those on the show! its a gorgeous idea, and it sounds very old hollywood to me!

I think it's a cool idea but the huge ostrich centerpieces might be overkill in my opinion...what if you did other focal points for the centerpieces and included the feathers in your bouquets, etc?
