Re: Day before the wedding.

  • Not much for me.  I'm meeting with my venue on Wednesday and hoping to drop off everything that night.  My big plans are mani/pedis with the girls and rehersal dinner preparation at my house, but most of that prep I'll do Thursday night.  And probably steam our dresses.

  • I really don't have anything to do....I cut back on a lot of the DIY stuff because we got good deals with the florist...and there really wasn't much to DIY....all we have left to do is the print the escort cards.

The only DIY we have is the flowers, but I am not doing them.  My mom is doing them and it is driving her about as crazy as it was me.

I have about the same list for the day before, OP: Iron table coverings, buy flowers and assemble bouquets and corsages. I believe my sister is planning to help me with these things, then we'll paint our nails and (hopefully) relax!

I'll be doing bouquets, bouts and corsages the night before as well.

For you ladies who will be doing the same, what are you using to help you make these? Any sites, videos, books etc? I've seens lots of stuff but I haven't found one set of steps or directions that I really like or would follow.

  • Making my bouquet that morning, then salon with our sisters/moms, putting together a simple table decor for the rehearsal. His parents are cooking and I'm decorating. Then hopefully getting some sleep!!!

I made our corsages and bouts. with feathers so that I wouldn't have to the night before. I am making my bouquet and I did a trial run a few weeks ago, just so I could get the hang of it. I would definitely suggest doing that if you haven't worked with flowers before. Just pick up a supermarket bouquet and make sure you have a few rolls of floral tape!!
  • I'll be doing bouquets and cupcakes. I made some silk practice bouquets (I know it's not really the same) and they didn't take too long. The cupcakes will be a bigger project but I have help with that!
  • I don't think I'll have any DIY things left for the day before. I'm doing silk flowers & my bouquets are made.

I will probably be driving around picking up tables & such and getting them to my house. I also plan on going over everything with my mom and maybe my BFF to make sure they understand the set up since they'll be doing most of it.

I'll also be buying food and things for our family moon since we leave early Sunday morning and I don't want to be doing much grocery shopping up there.

  • I (hopefully!!) won't have any DIY stuff left to do by the day before. I'd like it to be a fun & relaxing day with my mom and other family members who will be in town. My mom and I are getting manis/pedis and massages, so that should be a good distraction.

  • Hm...we're going to Sea World the day before the wedding probably. :)  We'll finish all of our DIY on the way to San Diego.
