Has anyone done any research, have been, booked or considered booking Grand Salon Reception Hall? What was your experience, pros, cons?

I haven't but if you go to the main page of the south florida knot where all the posts are you can do a search for it - just make sure it is set to "search current board"  or you will get info from all over the country

My cousin was married there in 2007, and my coworker was married there this December. Remember it's a banquet hall, so the food quality is mediocre at best and like everywhere premium liquor is at a higher cost and they may not have the same selection that a hotel may have. That being said, the venues (both at Killian Palms and Kendall) are very pretty and the staff is mostly amiable. I heard the coordinator isn't very efficient but neither of the Brides complained about their big day. It's very well priced.

I visited both locations when I was searching for my reception venue. After seeing the venue I ended up booking with, I couldn't get past their dated look. My only complaint, aside from that is the odor in the room, kind of smelled like mold. This was last May, so things may have changed since then. Also, prices are a non-negociable.
I went with Atlantis Reception Hall (157 Ave and Sunset) They are changing their name to Kendall Reception Hall (.com for their website)

I love this venue - but I have not heard any reviews, so it's making me nervous. They do have a Facebook page and past clients comment and post pictures, so it seems good so far. Also, my daughter's school had their end of year party there and her teacher loved it. That's my only review I've had. I've posted on here to get reviews but no one has responded.
