Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort in St. Thomas

Has anyone ever stayed here?? I am seriously considering it since St. Thomas is where we got engaged.  The place we stayed before was nice but they raised their prices significantly, and this resort looks a lot nicer.

Re: Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort in St. Thomas

  • They went to AI in July.  Personally I think AI in St Thomas is a waste. Their beach is just okay, there is no pool service which I think is lame.

Where did you stay the last time?

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • i wasn't crazy about it but then again i'm not crazy about st thomas on the whole. i much prefer st john.

  • My sister had her wedding there, so I visited. It seemed okay, but I don't think I'd pay to stay there. It's on a cliff which means to go the beach/pool you have to walk down a ton of steps. The pool is kind of small and like lynda said, the beach is just okay, too. If I remember it was really crowded with trees so I don't know how you would lay in the sun. The food was pretty good (especially the conch fritters), but I think to actually go AI it was fairly expensive and it's not exclusively AI.

Personally, I would look to stay somewhere else.

  • waltz - in July they went all AI, which includes everything.   Although for a few months there were non-AI people because they booked before the switch over.   (I know people who work there)

Gotcha. My sister got married a few years ago, so it's been awhile.
