Publix Cakes?

I am considering Publix for the cake.We have severely gone over budget and while at this point we are not keeping track on what we are even spending ,I refuse to shell out 1,000 for a darn cake!! We did Publix for our E-Party cake but Fi is being a Groomzilla and saying no way to a publix wedding cake...What am I going to do? Anyone getting a Publix Cake?

Nope- I'm doing cupcakes. Mini cupcakes are about a buck each and you need 2-3 person...so it might be an affordable option for you too!

I love Publix cakes and was strongly considering it before I decided to switch to cupcakes. HTH.

My mom keeps mentioning getting a Publix cake after we tried a couple different ones at a bridal show and Publix by far tasted the best.

Plus, I love their commercial where the bride brings in a piece of lace and the woman overhears her and makes the design...

We were gonna do publix cake but our venue came with one so we didn't have too but I love them!

One of the girls on here was going to do a Publix cake and it priced out to be as much or more then from a cake place.

I would show your FI the two different prices the one from your bakery of choice and one from Publix and once he sees how much you are saving he might reconsider.

Plus nobody would know it was from Publix

I heard you can take anything to Publix and they will recreate it.

I'm considering it if my place doesn't bring a cake.  OR I may do a small display cake, and just order a huge plancha for them to cut in the back.

Publix cakes are the best!! (And I'm not biased because I work there! lol). We were going to do a Publix cake for our wedding (It would have been a cute touch to our wedding, since that is where we met), but our venue came with a cake, so we aren't going to do one. My mom knows of one of the Publix bakery clerks that does AMAZING wedding cakes! I think she has done some sort of cake decorating contest before and won first place! Let me know!

yeah cakes from publix are BY FAR the best!!  we were DEF doing a publix cake but then our venue ended up coming w/ a cake & chocolate fountain.  But yeah idk if they are raising their prices or what, b/c we were looking for our e-party cake and they were like $200 for a little cake!!  We ended up doing a huge cookie cake (which was amazing and only $30 from publix) and then we had lots of other desserts too... but anyways, yes i love the publix cake and i really don't think people will care where it's from - they are more concerned w/ how it tastes!!   :):)

I was considering a publix cake before I tasted the most amazing mini cupcakes.  So I am having 200 mini cupcakes and a two tier cake just for cutting and am only paying $300.  You really have to look around the deals are out there to be found.

One thing that makes the price go up on the cakes is the decorations (sugar flowers etc.)  Usually, if you order simple fondant and have your florist add some natural flowers, the price is alot better.  HTH!
