Wedding planner interviews.

I'm interviewing the following wedding planners this week:

- Karla with Styilish Events
- Jackie with Jackie Ohh... Events
- Eric Trelles with Eric Trelles Events
- A Pretty Event by Nikol Johnson
- Heather with Posh Parties

What do I ask? What's a reasonable price for a month of coordination? Where do I start questioning their reliability, and how? Suggestions welcome!

I have Month of Coordination I booked early part of last year, and I am paying $700.00

Good questions: How many phone calls and how soon do you touch base with other vendors for Day of Timeline
How far into the reception can we expect to have you?
Do you charge extra to help bustle dress, decorate night of hotel?
How in depth do you coordinate the rehearsel and ceremony service?
Exactly what services are entailed in your Month of coordination.

Good luck, and my vote is for Jackie Ohh, she is phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!

    Jen, Jackie Ohh is AMAZING!!!!

The minute I got engaged, I wanted to have her as DOC but my budget just doesn't allow me too =( blahh!!! But, from what I heard, she's worth every penny! =) GL and keep us posted!

I want her bad too (oh that sounded naughty lol)! But I need to get these interviews going, I gotta be fair. Like with everything! Invitations, venues, I did all the research I could.

    Thank you, ladies!

I know Guerdy Charges about $2K for Day of Coordination but it's really month of.

Not sure what is standard with those you are talking to but I know Karla is budget friendly and does an amazing job.

I would just meet with them... see what they have to say, what their services offer and include and see how you click with them.

    Jen,

Jackie is awesome.  I interviewed her as well, but she was too expensive for me.  However, I thought she already booked for our day, but maybe I'm wrong.

Kaila gave you some great questions.  For me, I also threw out some situations like, "If this happened on my wedding day, how would you handle it?" It just showed me whether or not the person and I were on the same page. A correct answer for me could be a wrong answer for you. Also I asked about how she would handle my mother. This is the biggest issue for me because I can be cool as a cucumber and my mom will stress me out for no reason. (ex. she had a meltdown at my MOH's wedding and we had to slip her a Xanax).  When Vanessa nailed the answer to that question, I hired her on the spot. LOL

    Good luck!

LMAO Shan! My mum will probably berate me all the way to the altar, or she will start crying and she never EVER cries. I'm also worried about m Grandmere. She likes to think Craig is her grandson and drinks like it's her job :x

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely use them!

Jen, the girls gave you such awesome advice! GL
  • Hi....Choosing a wedding coordinator Im sure can be tough...I was blessed because my husbands family friend is Eric Trelles and he was given to me as a wedding gift. And he was exactly that...a gift haha. My advice is to the ask questions that will help give you piece of mind...that is what they are there for...they are there to help you in the last month and put all your puzzle pieces together. I didnt interview with any other coordinators but I can write a million paragraphs of how great Eric was. I would completely recommend him to anyone I know and dont know. He was completely prepared, reliable, efficient, and creative and made my "ideas" and plans truly come to life. He takes his job very seriously and also very personally....he knows how important this day is to brides and will go the extra step to ensure you, the bride, are happy....enjoy these last few days/months of planning, meet with your coordinator ideally eric, dump all the work on them and enjoy the ride hehe... best of luck to you Thought it would be fun to include specific examples of the tiny moments where I was glad to have eric around ; 1. Someone stepped on my dress bussle spelling? and tore it.no worries, eric had pins in his pocket to pin me up 2. By the end of the night my feet were killing me, no worries, eric had picked up a spare pair of shoes for me to change into the night before so I was able to change and keep dancing. 3. I only had 15 mins at the church to take pictures after the ceremony... no problem, eric gathered the troops, literally, and I have never seen 2 huge families get so organized so quickly, ever! I can go on and onbut I dont want to spoil all the fun for you.
