Invite got lost in the mail!!!

It was my nightmare, and now a reality! 

My favorite aunt and uncle (ironically) never received their invite! Thankfully she felt safe enough bringing it up to my sister-in-law (whom she is very close to) who then called me. (My aunt had received a STD so it was quite apparent she was intended to be invited.)

Luckily I'll drop off an extra in the mail before I leave for work.

Ugh!!

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Yea it happened to me and I had to mail a couple out a second time. Good thing I gave myself a decent amount of time to take care of this stuff.

Oh wow. We haven't had anyone tell us they didn't get the invite yet. Guess there's no way to know until they tell you!

My friend's wedding invite was lost in the mail that was meant for us. We were'nt sure how to bring it up, but once we did, it was no big deal. She sent another.

Yup, this has happened to about 3 people so far, out of 70 invites isn't bad.  Luckily we asked alot of people if they got it and they told us.  If not, we had time to send out another.

We haven't had anyone tell us they didn't get it.  I guess once we start calling people next week to get rsvp's that didn't come back, we'll find out!

we got about 4 back....they were all good addresses....we ended up mailing them out again and so far we have not had them returned again.  The frustrating thing for us was that it took nearly 2.5 weeks for them to start coming back. I feel bad because they only got like 1 week to RSVP instead of the month that all the other got.  Luckily everyone has been really understanding....never fails that it is the really important people!!!

I haven't heard from anyone that they didn't receive their invite.  I guess when I follow up on RSVPs which haven't come in, I will find out.

I haven't had issues yet with lost invites but we only sent ours out at the beginning of last week.  I WAS very concerned about our RSVPs though.  I used a VP postcard with no outer envelope, but when it was time to send out invites I got very afraid that the post office would reject them (NOT the heaviest cardstock)!  We got our first RSVPs back a week ago though, so I am definitely sleeping easier.

Curious - I've only had 2 come back so far and they've been out for 4 weeks now. I handed one that came back to the person, but the other one is out of state - if they address is good do we have to put it in a whole new envelope or can we just put a new stamp on and send it out again?

I had one come back, because I'm stupid and forgot that one of my girlfriends doesn't get mail at her house and has no forwarding address from her home (my bad); and then the mail troll ate one that went to FI's uncle in Cali.  He called asking where his invite was, because he knew he was invited and had already made arrangements to come up.

I wonder if that's why the majority of mine haven't come back yet!  I guess I won't really know until April 1 when they are due and we call everyone

Ugh.  FI got a voicemail today from a guest telling us to put him on the "probably coming but maybe not" list.  I told FI to call him back and tell him that we are putting him on the "fill out your damn RSVP card and mail it back to us by the end of the month whether or not you are coming and what you want to eat" list.

@Norman74...Haha. I've had a few of those too i've wanted to say that also. Its like how hard is it to check the card and drop it in the mail. The postage is already on there. I mailed our invitations out about a week ago. We invited over 300 people and only know of 85 coming so far, but i was impressed with how many we got back already and its only been a few days. I'm actually hoping there is 20% no show or no replies, since we over invited!
