Married Knotties - Question for ya...

Did you guys use a sign in book? If so, was it something you were glad you did or was it kind of a waste? I was about to order one when my mom said most people dont sign them. Was yours put to good use? Did you enjoy reading the messages?TIA!

I didnt have a book - we did the little cards thing and then guests put them in a large glass vase. We had 10 cards or so, but I agree that it is kinda a waste. You will get a way better response if you have a guest book at your shower. The notes I got from my shower are priceless!! funny and sweet advice. I would say skip the wedding and do a book or some advice cards at your shower.

our friend did a guest book and she said it wasn't worth it -- not a lot of people signed it, and those who did didn't write anything significant. a lot of names and congrats! good luck! good times!we did sign-in helmets because we collect them, so we knew it would get use in our house. could you do something fun that reflects you as a couple, that you'd want to have in your house after you're married?

we blew up a picture from our e-pics session and had it printed on a canvas (PIB).  everyone signed it and now its a great photo with everyone's notes.  i loved it.  martin's aunt actually just passed away and its nice to see her note up there as a physical reminder of her.

We had a photo guestbook withnour epics in them... We had tons of signatures and notes in it.. We have it on our coffee table now and I personally love it. People always look at it when they come over

We made one with our epics so its also like having an album. We had a lot of people right messages and not just their names...its nice to have because of the epics, but I wouldnt say it was all that inportant otherwise.

We had a polaroid guest book that was a HUGE hit.  Fortunately, everyone signed it because I assigned two of my very outgoing ushers to make sure that happened during cocktail hour.  We loved reading the messages and seeing the (mostly goofy) pictures of everyone.  It also ensured we now have a photo of everyone who was there, even if our photographer didn't catch them in a photo so far.  I would do it again. HTH :)

I have no idea why I put the words "so far" in that last sentence lol.

We used our Epics and our photographer turned them into an album for people to sign around the images. We had everyone at our DW sign it. Then at our AHR about 75% of our guests signed it. We LOVE reading the messages. It will be on our coffee table for years to come!

We had a sign in tree, and cut out stars on metallic pink paper with string to hang them from the branches - Our guests wrote their wishes for us on the stars :)

I think every bride should do this. I ordered mine from Walmart. I made a picture book. It came out nice too. It was fun to read the messages people wrote for us. Some were sweet and some were funny. It's a great thing and a must! :) HTH

We had a signature platter and I'm relatively certain that every guest signed it.  They all loved it!  We love looking at it.  An old knottie had her guests sign rocks and place them in a vase and another had them sign a guitar.  If you do something "creative," your guests will be more likely to sign it.  The e-pics books are usually a hit.  And it's often a good idea to assign a friend or family member to make sure people do it.  They can even help guests find their table assignment.

I did a sign in book, and honestly the only reason I did it was because I wanted an excuse to show off our engagement pics LOL! I thought NO ONE would sign it! When I got home and picked it up to look at it I was SHOCKED because the ENTIRE thing was signed. I had 10-15 signature pages and thought only a few would be used, but literally every page was FULL of writing! People wrote really nice things and Im really glad I had it!
