Definitely realistic. You might want to look into the Pronovias line or Alfred Angelo, Priscilla of Boston, Maggie Sotero...Coral Gables Bridal has many really nice gowns (many pronovias) in that range.I say go to Coral Gables and hit up 3 or 4 shops!Good luck!

TOTALLY realistic.  I didn't spend anywhere near that much on the total of my dress, veil, shoes, headpiece, etc.Where to go - Alfred Angelo, Coral Gables Bridals, Alegrias, Chic Parisien, etc. all on the Mile.  You may want to call ahead and make appointments.  But don't try to squeeze in too many in one day.  Take your camera with you and take it easy.  Plan on time to have lunch or grab a snack.  It's overwhelming and exhausting and exciting all in one.  :)

in ftl i would hit up a few places on las olas too. Victoria's Bridal has a really nice selection and that budget will cover most of the dresses there.

I LOOOOOVE Dulce at Coral Gables bridal.  She is classy and elegant.  ALL the dresses I tried on were <$1600 and looked like they were 5k.  Dulce, the owner, will try to get you in a dress that is right for you, not push you to buy something.  I went to some shops 2-3 times as my ideas changed and I looove how the same consultant all 3 times would always agree that the change I wanted was a good look for me.  Dulce tried super hard to get me what I wanted while still flattering my figure as I'm heavier than your size 8 brides because I have big thighs and a big bottom.  She personally picked out the dress that made my mom, my grandmother, and my friend from pharmacy school cry.  None of the other 30+ dresses I tried on at various stores during various shopping trips made anyone cry and Dulce found the one in her store.  That lady is amazing and she hasn't been pushy calling me 100x to "follow up"
