Florist...

Ok, so I met with the florist today and I really loved him (Gil Sosa). He was super impressed that he was so highly talked about here on the boards. I didn't really have an idea of what flowers would cost because I didn't really know what I wanted. I am hoping you ladies can give me some insight as to whether this is a good deal or if I should shop around. Here is what we will be getting: 2 Altar pieces 16 pew pieces 6 BM bouquets 2 FG Pomanders 4 corsages- Mom's and GMoms Bridal Bouquet 15 Centerpieces (2 styles) Sweetheart table piece Place card table piece Cake table decor The price is between $2200-$2700 depending on a few choices by myself. This includes all the vases, his assistants, and all the candles that we will be using. I feel stupid asking if this is a good deal, because now that I have listed what it is, I feel like it is, but would like to hear from you guys who have shopped around. TIA!

It seems like a good deal to me.  A lot of it does depend on the flowers you choose.

    I'd say that's a very good deal!

I have to agree...I don't know why I even had to ask this...maybe planning is making me crazy.  I was talking to a friend of mine who does wedding planning and she said that was a fantastic deal especially considering he included the labor and rentals.

Sounds like a good deal.  What flowers are you using? Don't forget to get spare bridal bouquet if tossing yours.  Also how about boutainnaires for guys? Here is a comparison:  using Nevot flowers2 altar pieces4 BM bouquets2 mini bouquets for my mom and my MIL2 Flower girl Pomanders2 Bridal Bouquets with crystals on random roses(1 to toss and 1 to keep)- I am preserving mine21 centerpiecesSweetheart table decorPlace card table flower arrangements4 groomsmen boutainnaires2 special boutainnares for groomsmen and my dadMine also includes tall square glass vase rentals, delivery and setup.  He is setting up the centerpieces on the tables so the guests can take the top 9you know how hispanics are about taking everything).  Price: $2600I am using combo of water lilies, roses, orchids, and hydrangeas.  My hotel includes the votive candles for every table.  Hope this helps Tiffany.  Email me if anything.  Who else have you seen?

We decided not to do bouts for the guys because David says they are a waste. The flowers are a combo of roses, orchids, hydrangeas and some other flower that I forgot (I suck at this). One of the arrangements will be Gil's signature single vase with the hydrangea and roses and the tall flowers/willow coming out of the top. There will be lots of candles as well. The second arrangment will be three tall cylinder vases with the hydrangea and roses on top, then 3 smaller cylinder vases with the orchids floating inside, three crystal tall votives and then three clusters of 3 short votives. As soon as he sends me the proposal with the pics I will PIB. I haven't met with any other florist, I was going to meet with Jorge Nevot as you suggested, but he NEVER returns my calls or answers his phone. Perhaps I will give him another call just in case.

I had 4 church baskets with gold victorian stands. 8 bidesmaids bouquets with roses and Mango Calas. 2 bride bouquets(1 for tossing of course) My bouguet was full of flowers including Mango Calas and lydios and roses and hypedicorts. 10 boutioners (9 with roses and 1 for the groom Mango cala) 20 centerpices with all the flowers in my bouquet.(My florist filled everything with flowers and used very little fillers) and a hurrican candle in the middle. 28 bows for the church iles. A vase full of all the flowers used for quest book table 4 coursages for moms and grandmas with mini orquids. and a bouquete for the virgin at the church all for 2,200 dollars. My florist was the one thing at my wedding that went above and beyond my expectations.
