Florist help!

I need some flower advice. Flowers aren't a big part of my budget since I'm not big on flowers, actually for me thats on the bottom of my list. I just got my quote yesterday and I feel it is a lot for me, especially since I had very simple designs. NO flowers during the ceremony (it is outside) and 100 people. 6 bridemaids/6 groom. only two white 2 white cymbidium for each table (10 tables). Thats it and quoted for $2300. Do you think this is right or am I right to think its pretty high?

I think it all depends on the types of flowers and things like that. It COULD be high, but in my search for a florist I found the quotes had no rhyme or reason and every florist I spoke to had different numbers for the same things.I think florists mark up A LOT of what they are giving you so I would definitely shop around.I personally met with 9 florists and got 10 quotes before chosing one. Not that you have to do that but I would def talk to at least 3 before deciding if that budget is right...If you need recs for budget florists, this board can definitely help!

IMO that sounds a bit high... it's hard to tell but my budget is $2400 for 200 guests. Granted I'm using almost all calla lillies and orchids but that sounds a bit high. Try my florist "Forget Me Not" Flowershop in Weston :)

In looking for a florist, between my parents and myself, we met with 5 or 6 and received quotes between $1500 and over $5000 for the same thing: I have 150 guests, 15 CP, 1 MOH, 6 corsages, and 6 boutonnieres, and some orchids as cake decorations. I would add Jorge Nevot to the list.  His prices are very reasonable.

I was a florist for 5 yrs, and I'll add this tip... I know at our shop we added 33% labor to the prices of arrangements and more for wedding work because they are doubly tedious and time consuming to put together.. Depending on the style of the bouquet you are ordering, makes a huge difference in price. Ask what flowers are in season, if flowers aren't a priority- this can lessen the cost. Ask what's local? Hand-tied bouquets can double as decorations at the reception, with a cut of the stems and a vase. (it's what I'm doing) Orchids and Callas can cost more, cause they bruise easier, so a florist has to get more in to make sure they look perfect. HTH

Try Roman Cusco, he's old school and works out of his home, but he is very nice, and gave us a great price for 13 CPs with moroccan lamp, 1 bouquet and one toss, 9 boutonnieres, 8 corsages, 2 pomanders, 2 altar arrangements, flowers for the cake and for the cocktail hour, an arrangement for the sign in table for $2800 His number is: (305) 223-9652
