NOLA or Vegas for Bachelorette Party?

Hi everyone, I need to decide asap whether I'd prefer New Orleans or Las Vegas for my bachelorette party on Halloween weekend, so my girls can start planning and booking tickets.Have any of you guys been to New Orleans lately?  Or have been during Voodoo Fest?  Curious to know what it's like, and what the French Quarter is like now.I know for sure Vegas will be a memorable trip, my hesitation is that for flights and activities it will run more expensive for the group.  Any experiences, thoughts, advice would be much appreciated!Tina

Definitely try to go the less expensive route.  I did a cruise and all of the girls were really happy that it was less expensive... times are tough.  You will have more fun because everyone will be less worried about their spending and more concerned with having a good time.I haven't been to either so I can't help with the location decision.HTH!Tyler

I have been to NOLA recently and I personally love it there. The french quarter is basically the same as it has always been. My friends and I are thinking of NOLA also.

Vegas is my obsession so I would definetly say GO FOR VEGAS!!! lol Spirit airlines usually has ridicuously cheap flights online check them out. I'm part of their $9 flights club and always get emails of flights overthere for about $40 each. GL!!

Thanks guys!  Tyler, I have a feeling nola will be less expensive, but not sure.  Tiffany, where are you thinking of staying in New Orleans, or where have you stayed in the past?  What is there to do during the day, do you know?  My brother was saying we'd probably want to remain in the French Quarter the whole time.Nane, I'll definitely check out Spirit for flight pricing.  Do you have any recs on where to stay?  There would be about 8 of us...

I've never been to NOLA so I can't speak to it but I've always wanted to go there!Vegas is awesome but probably will be more pricey.Another idea would be Fantasy Fest in Key West on Halloween. It's LIKE Mardi Gras... if you have never been... you might consider it, it's FUN! P.S. Nice to see you on the boards!!! Missed you around here!

Thanks Jaime!  Missed you guys definitely...I'll look into the Key West idea!  It seems like some girls in my group are strongly leaning towards Vegas and some are leaning towards nola. I'd be happy with either, so it's a tough decision.

i just got back from NOLA on Sunday, I went with my Dad.  We had a great time but I found Bourbon Street to be a little dirty and it smelled nasty evry where we were.  I think it would be fun for a bachelorette party though but Vegas is a little more sophisticated. There was a great hotel with an awesome jazz bar called royal sonesta, we would have stayed there if he didn't have a free hotel from a gold game. Also this place called Arnauds has an AMAZING Sunday brunch.

I love Vegas - I've been 3 times. I stay at the Las Vegas Hilton twice and Imperial Palace (GROSS! but so cheap) once. You can do Vegas veryyy cheap, especially with 8 girls. They are hurting so there are millions of deals right now. That being said, NOLA is supposed to be amazing and is on my list of places to visit! I say you can't go wrong with either

I've been to both and prefer NOLA but I dont care for bourbon st. I dont like gambling so vegas gets real old real fast for me. HTH!
