Vendor Vent

So since FI and I had to take the day off to be on the show, I decided to drag him along to a vendor meeting. We originally had an appt for 5:30p, so we changed it to 1:30p and went straight from the studio. Now, the vendor was Vision DJs and I had a meeting with George. I was very excited about this meeting since they are so loved on this board. They confirmed twice and was told that George was going to be at the Signature Gardens location today, so we drove from Miramar to South Dade (the Davie location would have been much more convenient). Well, we get there and no one is there, so we sat there for 15 minutes and finally a lady, who never introduced herself so I don't know her name came in. I asked where George was and she said he wasn't able to come in today. The meeting was a complete waste of time and anytime I asked a question, I was told, I would need to speak to George. I also asked if we could guarantee that the owner would be out DJ and she said no, not until one month prior. The whole meeting took less than 15 minutes. I must say, I was extremely disappointed by the whole thing. We spent almost 2 hours driving to and from the meeting for absolutely nothing. Still no word from George as to why he wasn't there. Oh well, meeting with Ubi on Wednesday, let's hope it goes better.

Wow Shannon that's really really crappy. To have driven all the way down there and no one is there is VERY unprofessional. I don't get why they would do that to you but I'm so sorry. I sure hope this is not something they would do on someones wedding day!

Awww man, that sux!  I would be beyond aggravated.  Your time is important too.  The least they could've done was call you to let you know he wouldn't be available.

You know that's exactly what I thought, if this is how they treat you when they are trying to get your business, how would they treat you once the contract is signed??? But there was someone there, but she strictly worked in the office and could only give "the sales pitch". All of my questions went unanswered. I know George is well liked on this board and receives great reviews, but today was a real turn off. Oh well, their loss...LOL

Thats a shame, but shouldn't your wedding planner be doing all this for you?

That sucks big time and I would definitely feel the same way. Tis a shame cause we were blown away by his professional attitude.  Well, Ubi is another well loved, tested and true DJ.

I love the sales pitch from dos...LOL...Anyhow, hope things go better with Ubi. In my experience, he is very nice and considerate.

dos122, actually my planner did schedule everything for me, but since it was the first day of school (her daughter's first day ever) and FI was going with me, I told her she didn't have to go. I'm so glad she didn't because it would have been a 35 mile drive for her for absolutely nothing. They confirmed with both of us....and guess what, it's almost 8 hours later and still no call or email apologizing.
