generally it's 8-12 weeks.... I'm doing 12 because 75% of my wedding will OOT but I think 8 weeks is good for a normal wedding!

haha so funny, i looked this up on google about 3 hours ago and came up with a timeline:Send STD's: Sept 14 or 21Send invites: Nov. 16RSVP Deadline: Jan 15, 2010Final count due to venue: Feb. 14, 2010Wedding Day: Feb 19, 2010Mine are going out early as well. I am from Florida, currently living in Boston, getting married in Florida. I have guests from all over the US, as well as France & Korea so I need to give a lot more notice that whats normal. One thing also working against me is the holidays. Tgiving is one week after I send my invites, and then comes the whirlwind known as December. My RSVP is done online so hopefully everyone finds it easier and actually responds on time!!

I'm doing 6 months prior to the wedding.I'm having international guests who will need to arrange everything from Visas to plane tickets, so giving them time is crucial. However, if you're just having family & friends, living locally in their majority, 12 weeks is plenty :)
