Ok so the Lord works in mysterious ways. I had narrowed down my florists to two vendors, Dalsimer & Forget Me Not. They came in with the same exact price, with slight differences in the proposals. Forget Me Not- Half highs, half lows, all personal flowers and church flowers and everything in between as well as these amazing heart wreaths that will go on the entrance doors to the church (i LOVE them). Dalsimer- Half highs, half lows, all personal flowers & church flowers & everything in between but NO wreaths but uplighting with unlimited lights for $400 which is amazing bc the lowest i've been quoted is $500 for our space. So basically my deciding factor for choosing Dalsimer is that I would have to be dealing with one less vendor should i choose to do uplighting. So i bring the signed contract from Dalsimer to FMIL last week for her to send with the deposit. (her and FFIL are paying for our flowers.) Rewind to yesterday when Cathy from Forget me Not calls me. First she tells me that a vendor friend of her's can get us uplighting for under $500 & that she was going over our proposal and that she can go ahead and give us ALL HIGHS and stick with our price! AHH!!! So basically the $100 i would be saving in uplighting from Dalsimer is out the window in comparison to the money that I am saving for all highs! So i call FMIL and tell her whats going on & she tells me that Dalsimer hadn't deposited the check yet, so she went ahead and put a stop payment on the check after she called to tell them there was an issue with the account. She left this as a voicemail & sent an email. I was stressing bc I had already signed the contract and all that and I didn't know if the contract was active from when they receive or from when the money is received. Well FMIL calls me back and tells me that she was going through the papers of the proposal & sent them only the first page of the proposal and NOT THE CONTRACT !! OH MY GOSH! What a weight lifted off of my shoulders and that just further confirmed my decision as meant to be. Phew. Thanks for listening, this was such a TOUGH vendor decision!
