Help with wax seals!

I bought some faux wax and a stamper at Michaels. Plan was to go to town today using Vicki's instructions from her bio, but the glue gun trick is not working! Wax is not coming out like it's supposed to, just oozing from the sides. When we try to light the wick and melt the wax that way, ashes comes off of the wick and it looks icky mixed with the red wax. Any tips, ladies? Please let me know. These invites needed to go out days ago!

    Did you get the round glue stick or the square wax?

    Hey Gladys! I got the square. That's the only kind I saw there. I tried shaving the sides of the stick to make it round and even cutting it in half to make it fit into the mini glue gun, but no luck. Maybe I need different wax? Have no idea where to go, though...

    hey!!! did you get the hi temp or the low temp glue gun. low temp is the better way to go. maybe the temp is too high???
