I have only recently started cooking. I always felt so bad serving Scott mac and cheese or tuna sandwiches for dinner so I started to think of good, easy meals. I usually get chicken breast or steak and marinate it for a day in Lawry's marinade (the two best are Steak N' Chop and Tequila Lime). I'll make that with red potatoes and frozen mixed veggies. But my fave thing is my Mom's potroast. You pour onion soup mix in the bottom of a roasting pan, then plop the roast down, and cover it with a sauce that contains garlic, paprika, and duck sauce. Cook for several hours. Its soooo good bc its sweet but salty! Her friends still make it for holidays. Yum!

Jill... that potroast sounds REALLY good! I usually cook mine in the crockpot... I put down loads of veggies and potatoes, put the potroast on that and then fill the crockpot up with beef broth. Yum yum. I loveee pot roast!

Tess is that all? That sounds so easy and delicious! I'm going to try that once I get over my fear of leaving the crockpot on all day :) I love potroast too! I always throw potatoes and carrots in there.

seriously... thats it! lol sometimes ill get daring and sear the potroast first. ill cover it in salt and pepper and then brown it in a pan with EVOO. then ill put LOTS of onions, carrots, potatoes in the crockpot with it. the beef broth already has salt so you dont need to add anything!! this recipe is a family recipes... we call it chicken with white macaroni. 4 *skinless* chicken thighs 1lb (i use half or 1 cup per person) linguni bottle of good white wine 1 chopped onion in a bigggg pot heat up some evoo. put the chicken in meat side down to brown. after the meat browns really nicely.... throw in the chopped onion and let them cook till theyre see-through. then load that baby up with as much wine as you want :) the wine and onions with eventually cause the sauce to thicken. you want it to cook for a good bit of time...add some salt, pepper, parsely, oregano. once the chicken starts to fall off the bone..... its done! boil your pasta... put the chicken and sauce on top with some grated parmesan. this is one of those dishes thats alo AMAZING the next day.
