What is the best site to book flights to Bora Bora?

We booked everything through a travel agent. 

Some things we noticed though in our research though.....if we were to book through expedia, it would be cheaper to book two separate flights.  ie. NYC to LA, then another flight from LA to Tahiti.  When we put in NYC to Tahiti, it was more.  I found all the various booking sites to be comparable in price though. 

You will also need to consider inter island flights and transfers if booking on your own.

Fabulous - yes we are trying to see if booking separately will work as an option - flights are near $2500 - is that about right or overpriced?  Debating whether to wait on booking flights and to see if the prices go down, but that makes me nervous there won't be an option!

When I was pricing it out, the total was around $2100 from Newark to Tahiti.  When are you planning on going?

That sounds about right if you are including interisland airfare air with the international portion. If you are going to more than one islalnd, I do recommend looking at buying a separate air pass from Air Tahiti, which saves money on your interisland connections. So, you'd buy the airpass and international flights separately. I'd also recommend pricing out the domestic portion and international portions separately. there are a lot of little segments and stuff when booking Tahiti, so if you aren't opposed to it, I'd recommend contacting an agent just to see what they can offer!

my fiance and i have been looking into it because we plan to have our honeymoon in bora bora also. i was looking on liberty travel and talking to them. and i found some good deals. you can put a certain % down and then pay the difference a few months before the wedding. we have already started saving for it. i can not wait to go! i know the flight is long but its sooo worth it!!!! but yes it is best to go throught an agency just to make sure you get everything done right! we dont get married for 2 more years but we are booking our honeymoon next summer. i cant wait.

Oh wow $2100 to Bora Bora from Newark?  That is amazing - we are planning to go in September - flights are around $2700 - ouch!!!

Joanne caught low season flight pricing! If you time things right for low season travel, you can find limited specials for around $500pp from LAX!

Wow $500?!  Now that would be amazing - I wish   I think we must be going during a high season or something - crazy crazy expensive!!

Yup- june-october is high season. July, August, and September sell out quickly and have the highest prices.
