Invite Officiant to wedding?

I think I've seen this question asked before and the answer is yes, you should invite them.My question is, if I do invite him, do I send him a formal invitation? Do I invite him with his Wife? (rabbi so there is a wife) What if I don't know her name? Do I ask him for it? I'm so confused.... Or do you not invite your officiant to the wedding? I have no idea.

I think it is standard to invite the officiant and spouse, although typically they don't come to the reception or they come and don't stay long.  I believe the proper way to address the invitation is: Rabbi and Mrs. Steven Zucker HTH :)

Oh, and if you are doing inside and outside envelopes for your invites the outside envelope would say: Rabbi and Mrs. Steven Zucker The inside envelope would say: Rabbi and Mrs. Zucker

Thank you! So should I send it to their home and ask him for that address or send to his office at the Temple? I would think his home but t hen I need to get the address right?

You're welcome! That one I'm not sure about. I would think you would send it to his home, but of course you would need to ask for the address as you mention. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, I don't see any problem with sending it to him at the temple. I work for a judge and she gets personal invites mailed here to court so I would imagine it would be okay.

I would also think to send it to the home. Like JaiKriBaby said, I work for an attorney and I get tons of his personal mail to the office, but I sent my STDs to his home. I bet if you called the Temple and explained, they would give you his home address.

Well I could definitely ask him directly, we have a good relationship but I just wondered what proper etiquette was. I will email him and ask for his home address... or is that not cool? I have no idea honestly!
